You're looking at a HUGE Hollywood Regency style masterpiece--a SUBLIME BAROVIER & TOSO floor vase. In this latter 20th century design (1970s or 1980s I believe), Barovier & Toso puts classic 'ginger jar' on steroids with exaggerated and highly sensuous curves and an elegant sense of drama. While from a distance, our vase appears to be pale glowing purple or periwinkle, the glass is actually composed of gradations of blue, purple and white flecks overlaid with a layer of crystal and gold leaf (incamiciato). The result is a striking piece of art sporting an ethereal sort of glow depending on the light. The roughly 6" neck opening beckons for the most opulent flower arrangement or even use as an umbrella or cane stand.
Dimensions: ~17" tall, ~10" in diameter at widest, weighs 10.5 lbs.
