Barovier & Toso's "Cordonato D'oro" (or "Golden Rope") creations, designed by Ercole Barovier, are amongst its most lavish and highly coveted, and the momentous glitter of this spectacular gold-strewn leaf or heart-shaped glass bowl | ashtray | trinket dish will steal the show, no matter where you place it. A testiment to Barovier's genius, this beauty embodies the sheer LUXURY of Murano glass and is an heirloom to be treasured. Standing just over 2.5 inches tall, the bowl | ashtray is 6 inches in widest diameter and is one of the largest pieces I've seen in the 'leaf' shaped series. Unsigned but documented exhaustively, this beauty is in excellent vintage condition (and has a nice wide indentation for your biggest stogies if cigars are your thing). Two minor production-related imperfections: 1) a tiny hole on the base where I'm guessing a piece of ash embedded during production became dislodged; 2) a small rough feeling edge improperly polished during manufacture and undetectable by eye.
